Super Hotel Kakogawa Ekimae

The bread at breakfast is really good, and there's also a welcome drink service with alcoholic options. It's a handy business hotel near Kakogawa Station. One small tip: the elevator buttons seem to attract static almost every time, so using a pen or something similar to press them might help.

There's a decent choice of supermarkets, convenience stores, and places to eat around the station. Thanks for looking after me 😃 I was in the area for sales work in Hyogo Prefecture for the first time and picked this hotel because it suited my plans for the next day. I've stayed at Super Hotel locations in different places, so I wasn't worried about trying this one. The separate men's and women's hot spring baths were relaxing, even if they aren't very big. I drove here, so parking convenience mattered as much as the price. There isn't parking on the hotel site. You can use an affiliated lot nearby, though it's a bit of a walk, or look for another car park around the area. Without knowing where to go, it's easy to get turned around. I ended up circling twice 💦 They mentioned an unaffiliated coin lot right next to the hotel for people who need to drive again after check-in. I didn't want the hassle of moving the car, so I left it there. It's in front of JR Kakogawa Station, and the 24-hour maximum was 800 yen. The entrance is separate on the first floor of a mixed-use building, but there's only one elevator serving the hotel floors, which I think were 5 through 8. That was a little inconvenient, and it was hot waiting in front of it since there was no air conditioning there.

I haven't stayed here, but I was shocked by how a hotel employee responded when my children returned a passbook they'd found in an ATM at a bank near the station. It had the hotel's name on it, and the bank counter was closed on Saturday. Since it was a company passbook, I wasn't sure if I should take it to the police. My son and daughter were shopping nearby, looked into it, and offered to bring it to the hotel, so I asked them to. They said the employee didn't thank them, just replied, "Oh, I see," took the passbook, and quickly walked off. Both came back bewildered and shocked. My daughter works part-time at a convenience store and said that kind of attitude wouldn't be acceptable in customer service. I was taken aback too. I never expected someone working at a hotel to act that way. Very disappointing.

The breakfast buffet was delicious. I went back for plenty of fried chicken, bread, and other things because it all tasted so good. We stayed as a family, and the clean room and comfortable bed made for a nice stay. Being able to pick our own pillows helped, and the drink service was great too.
