I was here on a business trip and had everything I needed, including a private bathroom, a full-length mirror for getting ready, toiletries such as a toothbrush, and slippers. The room and washing facilities were very clean, and the friendly staff were helpful. Checkout instructions were provided too. It’s a guesthouse, so some spaces like the toilets, common room, and kitchen are shared. The walls are a bit thin, as others have said, but my neighbours were considerate, so it wasn’t a real problem. The price feels fair for such a great location. Hase Station is about a 5-7 minute walk away, as are attractions like Hase-dare shrine and the great Buddah. I highly recommend staying here and would book it again if I return to Kamakura.

The staff member who greeted us, the guy, was so welcoming and lovely. Guesthouse Shibafu is charming, cute, and super clean. It had everything we needed, including a really well-equipped kitchen. The beach is less than a 10 minute walk away. The walls are a little thin, but I’d happily stay again.

Honestly, a great place. The rooms are comfy and traditional, and the food is pretty great too. Since most places nearby close quite early, it’s handy to eat here rather than make the trip to Kamakura stn or enoshima for food. The staff were so nice, and the inkeeper Jiro is wonderful. Nothing to complain about. Be friendly and everything will go well. Say hi to the dog Niko.

A quiet, tiny place that feels like home, with a great location and the nicest staff. Just be aware that the stairs are very steep and narrow, which could be tricky with big bags or mobility issues. If that’s not a concern, you’ll be fine.
