The people here made us feel so welcome that we didn’t want to leave. We don’t know Japanese, but everyone tried hard to speak English and even walked us over to get our snow hire clothes and equipment. The kitchen staff lady set up our hot pot and explained how to cook the vegetables first, then the meat, and how to adjust the heat. She was just as helpful and welcoming at breakfast. The man who picked us up in the van was lovely too. We had a laugh trying to communicate through our phones, and after we used a translation app, he even filled in our check-in papers for us. Our room was traditional and beautiful, and we loved trying the Onsen for the first time. The accommodation is about a 3-minute walk from the lift up the mountain. Thanks to all the staff and visitors who helped us along the way. This was a highlight of our Japan holiday, and we’ll definitely come back. We booked into a snow field that wasn’t touristy.

The food is generous and tasty, and the ski lifts are close by, so it makes a great ski lodge. The guesthouse is old but clean. One drawback is the bathroom hair dryer, which is weak, and there isn’t one in the room. Anyone with long hair should bring their own. The rental ski gear was mostly old, which disappointed me. It’d be nice if newer equipment were available for an extra fee.

The hotel was fantastic, and we’re very grateful to the particularly kind, polite gentleman who helped us throughout our stay in Hachkita, Japan. We’d love to know his name. Without any reservations, he helped us find a hotel and sort out ski equipment rental. Thanks as well to the wonderful gentlemen at the ski rental. When there were problems with the bus, he was right there and helped us out so well. You don’t often meet people this helpful, and we’ll always remember the experience. A huge thank you for everything. Highly recommended from Germany.

There’s quite a bit of coming and going here because the inn is also used by the Shinki Kanko Lemon Bus. We stayed on the day heavy snow caused a power outage two years ago. Since it was our club’s 10th anniversary, our group still talks about it as the “power outage incident.” Nakaya looked after us so well that the anniversary became a really memorable one. There’s a broad food selection and various optional dishes, so it’s a good pick if you want Tajima beef and crab. We’ll definitely stay again.

I come here every year for my ski trips to Hachikita Ski Resort 🎿. It’s a really homey place to stay 🙋.
