Dinner was a highlight, especially the salad and eggplant gratin in the course meal. The room was spotless, and the underfloor heating made it so comfortable I almost didn't want to head out. I was here for a ski tournament, and the tune-up room was handy, with Zao Liza Ski Resort close by. Even though I arrived late at night, the owner was waiting and check-in went smoothly. The building is beautiful from the entrance onward. Thanks for everything.

The guesthouse had a lovely feel, and the owner was so welcoming. The food was delicious too. I'd be happy to stay here again.

The large bath was a welcome way to warm up after skiing, and the underfloor heating kept our room comfortable. We stayed for two nights in a warm, friendly guesthouse, and the staff were lovely. They kindly drove us to and from the ski resort each time, which made the trip much easier since we don't have a car. The meals were homemade and varied. We had Western food the first night and Chinese food the second. Breakfast was great too, with lots of vegetables and bread alongside local cherry and pear jams. We had a wonderful ski trip, thank you so much.

Dinner was the part that stayed with me most. Each course was thoughtfully made, looked beautiful, and tasted incredible. We were the only guests on the meal plan that night, so the dining room was ours alone. It was the last day of Obon, and I understand the hotel would usually be full then, but an approaching typhoon seems to have left us as the only ones staying for meals. The meal plan is well worth considering. The bath is open all day and night and can be booked for private use. There aren't convenience stores nearby, and the rooms have no refrigerators, though the vending machines in the building are fairly priced. I'd like to come back in winter. I asked about driving there, and was told snow tires should be fine because traffic is controlled. With winter road restrictions on the Pacific side, I'd like to travel via the Sea of Japan side.

The dining room has a lovely view, and there are plenty of manga and books around, so it's easy to unwind. The guest rooms are simple, just a bed and TV, but they feel relaxing. Our family of three stayed here, and the owner's warmth, the kind staff, and cat stickers and signs throughout gave the place a homey feel. There are two baths, open 24 hours, and we took turns using them when free, like a family bath. There are also plenty of washrooms and toilets. Meal times are fixed, so keep check-in and return times in mind. The food was delicious, including homemade jams and juices from local fruit, and we'd like to come back. You can have drinks in your room. A shared fridge or something similar would be handy, though, so you don't have to go back to your room.
