We spent five days here on a ski trip. The staff were friendly and helpful, the lodge was cozy and relaxing, and everything was clean and well maintained. It felt like an authentic local stay. The indoor and outdoor onsen were beautiful, and breakfast was an excellent traditional Japanese meal. There's free parking on site, plus complimentary wine, whisky, tea, and coffee from around 5 pm.

We stayed three days and two nights. Rain was especially helpful with everything we needed, and the staff were all very accommodating. Our room was clean, nice, and modern. We had half board, and the food was FANTASTIC!!! There's also a free bar with coffee, tea, local Yamagata wine, and whiskey.

The dinner was amazing: beautifully presented fine dining, cooked really well and served in a private room. Breakfast wasn't buffet style, but served Japanese style. At night, there isn't much nearby to go to, apart from a Lawson about a six-minute walk away. The hotel arranged a pickup, and we were warmly welcomed when we arrived. The lobby has an elegant design and plays old music with great sound. You can relax there with coffee or juice. The room was smaller than at some other onsen hotels, but good enough for us. The onsen isn't large, though it's nicely decorated. With just 18 rooms, the hotel never felt crowded. It's less than 15 minutes from Yamagata station by JR train.
