The room didn't feel clean, and I never felt comfortable or welcome. Beds were uncomfortable, and the cleaning schedule is eco-friendly, which is fine in principle, but here it came across as if they really didn't want to clean. The flyers said skipping cleaning saves water and promised a bottle for each day we opted out. Most hotels already give you two free waters, but this place offered just one, and it was a tiny bottle. That really upset me. I chose this place partly for the Onsen, but the bath was a huge disappointment. It had the basic ingredients for a spa, yet the lighting was too dark and the greenery on the wall looked sad and depressing, just a couple of fake plants with no fresh air. The bird sounds they played were grating, and they played them in the lobby too. The whole thing felt stuffy and pretty awful. Service wasn't great either. We watched other guests get a full explanation of the pillow system and have the elevator called for them, but neither happened for us. We're both American, and I wondered if the experience would have been better if I were Japanese. I wasn't satisfied with the facilities or the Onsen, which felt like someone had been told what a spa should be and got everything wrong. I wouldn't stay again or recommend it. They don't use keycards. Instead, room and bath codes are handed out on flimsy printer paper. It's an awful system. At least laminate the cards.
The room was lovely, and the welcome drink was a nice finishing touch. The staff were so kind, especially Yoshida and all the reception girls, who helped my fiancee and me as much as they could. We had a wonderful, very pleasant stay and only wished we could have stayed longer. Really the best place to choose for a visit to Kanazawa!
The food was local and delicious, and the price was great. It's handy for a short stay near the station. Rooms are small but cozy and comfortable, and the staff were kind and attentive. There were lots of organic amenities, and the small onsen was clean, stylish, and relaxing.
The staff were friendly, the rooms comfortable, and the Onsen was nice. The shower had good water pressure, and there was a good choice of amenities. I also liked the Happy Hour from 5pm to 8pm and the hotel's focus on Sustainability Development Goals. The rooms are compact, and more places to hang or store things would help. The genkan is awkward too, since the door makes it hard to separate that area. Rooms warm up quickly, so even with the window open, it's best to run the Aircon. A fan would be useful. I'm not sure whether the Aircon runs on an energy efficient cycle or uses a renewable energy provider.
At reception, we were told to take photos of the hotel information instead of finding the usual folder in the room. We were first assigned room 622, but it smelled like old socks from the carpet, so we went back and got room 322. The second room didn't smell, though a bottle of room perfume was sitting on the desk. They seem to know about the smell issue. Both rooms had a double and single bed taking up most of the space. The double bed's mattress cover was STAINED. There was only one footstool to sit on and just one working light. The light above the desk had no switch. It feels like they're cutting costs on cleaning, service, and electricity. Cheap feeling. At least it was only two nights. Thank God.
