I was recovering from a broken foot and had a mobility scooter with me, which I could leave outside without worrying about theft. Moving a futon downstairs into the living room also gave me a first-floor sleeping area, so I only had to get around on that floor throughout my stay. The washer-dryer combo was much appreciated. The property was fantastic, stylish, comfortable, and well run by a very professional team. One improvement would be English labels on the wall controls for the air conditioning, bathroom and floor heating, and water heater. If you're traveling with someone who needs a separate room, moving a futon to the living room could work well. I’d return in a heartbeat. It’s a fantastic location in a great city.

The online house manual covers most questions, and the staff at check-in were friendly and helpful. The place is gorgeous and spacious, with traditional Japanese interiors mixed with modern touches. It felt like taking a vacation within our vacation.

The Machiya staff were kind and helpful, and we found Mimari House spacious, clean, and convenient. It’s a wonderful property with plenty of Japanese character. We highly recommend this inn in Kanazawa.

Staff were quick to respond and helpful by email. The place feels new, clean, and well cared for, with a beautiful modern interior that still keeps its traditional style. It’s affordable for groups, around a five-minute walk from the bus loop and train station, with lots of places to eat nearby.
