The owner, a very kind and welcoming lady at reception, made the place feel warm and homely. The building and room are a little dated, but the atmosphere felt just right, and the bed was good. We stayed two nights in a triple room with my brother. With luggage, it’s a 3-5 minute walk from the station. I’d stay again next time I’m in Kanazawa. Wishing the old lady good health and luck so she can keep running the hotel.

The elderly owner is wonderful, so friendly, and sometimes plays traditional music in the entrance hall. The hotel is old and the decor dated, but I can relax here more than in any modern hotel, and I’d come back anytime. Our room was surprisingly large for Japan, and everything worked and was clean. One thing to be aware of, the teacups in the room are washed with chlorine. I wouldn’t use them without rinsing them first.

The owner was so friendly, and even kept the pouch I accidentally left on the counter until I came back looking for it. The room was spacious and felt more like home than a hotel. The owner also plays a good musical instrument in the hall. 😄😄

We had cockroaches in the room, asked to move, and found the same problem in the new room. It was a nightmare. This hotel isn’t cheap enough for guests to be expected to put up with an infestation. Avoid it.

The hotel is very old, and the staff barely speak English. After 8 pm, our non-smoking room started smelling of smoke. The bathroom was unusable, with missing lamps, and the fridge had a kilo of ice inside. All night there was a constant mouse noise, so we couldn’t sleep well.
