The inn’s care for Japanese culture and the details is clear as soon as you arrive. If you want a fully Japanese food and lodging experience, this is the place. I can’t recommend it more highly. Just remember that this is a place where respect and kindness matter, so learn how to behave somewhere that’s working to preserve its cultural values.

The food here is wonderful and fairly priced. In my view, even the fancier, better-known restaurants in Tokyo don’t compare. The rooms are comfortable, and the hot spring makes it easy to unwind from everyday life. It’s also not far from central Kanazawa. Whenever we stay at this Ryokan, we have a fantastic time. I’d gladly recommend it for families, older relatives, couples, or friends.
Meals were great at this charming, traditional ryokan. Three years ago, none of the staff spoke English, but we still had no trouble communicating.
The food was really good!
Meals were served in semi-private rooms, so we could take our time eating. The seasonal dishes were all delicious, and we could get more rice for free. There was also about an hour of complimentary chuhai in several flavors, which was fun, and each person got an ice cream. We only stayed one night during our annual trip. The inn has a slightly retro feel, but there’s parking, a roomy entrance, and we were welcomed with a smile. The rooms seemed recently renovated and clean, though the walls between them felt a little thin. We didn’t use the family bath, but apparently there is one. The hot spring itself was compact.
