Onyado Nono Sendai Hot Spring

The rooftop onsen was a favorite, especially the little outdoor pool. I sat in the hot water as snow fell around me, then cooled off with the free ice cream. Breakfast was delicious with lots of options, though it gets busy and the hotel recommends going early. The staff were friendly and always around to help. There are more than 100 rooms, yet the place still felt quiet and calm. My room was compact, but I liked the Japanese style and it had everything I needed. A great stay in Sendai.

If you're driving, look up nearby parking before heading over. Once you're on the road, it may be hard to redirect to the closest lot. The hotel staff are happy to help with this. Otherwise, the location is excellent, right by the shopping arcade near the center of Sendai, in my opinion. The onsen was good, and the hotel felt peaceful. The room wasn't large, but was more than decent for the city center.

It's an upscale hotel near Sendai station where you leave your shoes behind and walk around in a hotel yukata. The onsen is excellent, with a cold bath, an outdoor bath, and a sauna, and breakfast was very good too. It's not cheap, but worth it when you need a proper rest.

Tatami mats run throughout the hotel and give the place a ryukan feel, which made it easy to relax after a day of sightseeing. Everything was impeccably clean, and the warm atmosphere brought back why I enjoy visiting Japan. The building itself blends in with the city around it. The main drawback is that it isn't especially close to Sendai Station. There's an underground station nearby, but finding your way from the main Sendai JR station to that particular stop can be a bit of a hassle when you've just arrived.
