the square hotel Kanazawa

Our 20 m² room had a TV, couch, fridge, and comfortable beds, with the toilet separate from the bathroom. The Square Hotel KANAZAWA makes small rooms feel very compact, but it also offers plenty of free facilities, from the training room to the sauna and public bath. Staying on a higher floor gave me a stunning view over the city. If I return to Kanazawa, I’d choose it again.

The room layout worked well for us. I booked both a deluxe twin, which was tatami style, and a superior twin, which was western style. There was enough space for big suitcases, the rooms were very clean, and the bathroom was spacious enough for its bathtub. I also liked having a door between the bedroom and the front hallway, so I could pack without disturbing my family. The hotel is right beside Omicho market, with ramen nearby and Lawson, FamilyMart, and 7-Eleven close too. There are lots of restaurants around, and you can walk to Kenrokuen garden or Higashi Chaya. I’d definitely stay here again if I visit Kanazawa.

The breakfast buffet was excellent, and I had a great stay. It’s a bit of a walk from Kanazawa Station, but Omicho Market and the Geisha District are close by. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kanazawa.

The triple room was comfortable and arranged conveniently, with all the amenities we needed. There’s also a small but good onsen on the top floor. For the price per night, it’s a very good hotel, and the nearby bus stop makes sightseeing easy. The laundry was the one bad part. I think the washing machine had no soap, and the drying didn’t work well. The machines also take a very long time, over two hours.
