Yuyaruru Saisai

The staff were the friendliest I've encountered at a hotel in Japan, and they really helped me through a complicated problem during my stay. The location is beautiful, and the Japanese-style rooms are spacious. It's also really affordable by ryokan standards, with great value for the money. I can't recommend this place enough. You won't regret booking this ryokan.

The rooms are huge, spacious Japanese-style suites, and the staff are incredibly kind. Everything was clean, the common bath was nice, and breakfast was generous. Laundry is available at the hotel, and downtown is about a 15-minute walk. One thing to know: you have to be barefoot in the rooms. The floor isn't heated, and the AC doesn't warm it very well, so thick socks would be a good idea. Everything else was perfect. Highly recommend!

The room, view, and cleanliness were superb, and the junior suite was huge and very quiet. The public bath was so relaxing. Breakfast was very Japanese on the first day, with a little more choice on the second. We enjoy walking, so we didn't use local transport or taxis. The inn is a 10-minute walk from the Left Loop bus. Arriving early on a Sunday morning wasn't ideal, though, as reception felt a little distant. If you stay fewer than three days, they mostly just change towels and empty the bins.

We were on our honeymoon, and they gave us a handmade postcard congratulating us on our wedding. The small touches kept coming: during each cleaning, they left a different candy with a note about the region's history. The room had free kimonos, changed daily, along with fresh water and tea. The traditional tatami and shoji rooms were wonderful, and the staff were polite and attentive, with a wide variety of amenities. Breakfast was delicious and different each day. An amazing stay!
