Hyatt House Kanazawa

Breakfast was the one real letdown. On the first morning we were sent to Hyatt Centric next door, where the meal was what you'd expect at that standard. After that, breakfast was at Hyatt House, and it was noticeably more like basic food-court fare, without being particularly good. The rest of the stay was lovely. The station is straight across the road, so getting to the Shinkansen with luggage was easy, and there's a nearby mall as well as the usual 7-11 stores. The building has some architectural charm, too. Check-in went smoothly. Our room was airy, bright with natural light, very clean and thoughtfully laid out, and the beds were genuinely comfortable. The lounge was nicely furnished and a relaxing place to sit. Happy hour drinks were available from lunchtime into the evening.

The hotel is right by Kanazawa station, with clean, spacious rooms and a complimentary bar with alcohol and other drinks on the ground floor. My booking didn't include breakfast, but the hotel provided it free for me and my son. The gym was decent, with free weights and two treadmills. It's a modern, new hotel, and I'd stay here again if I come back to Kanazawa.

Being right beside the train station makes this a very convenient place to stay, and I thought it was great value for the quality. The rooms have loads of space, and breakfast has a nice range of Japanese and Western food. Kanazawa is one of my favorite cities in Japan, and Hyatt House Kanazawa is easily my favorite place to stay there.

We spent three nights here and would happily book it again on our next visit to Kanazawa. The staff were friendly and professional, and we had no complaints about the service. Our room was clean, new and roomy, with laundry machines available in the building. The location is excellent, just outside Kanazawa station. This side is less busy with commuters and tourists, and there's a small shopping mall above the hotel with several good restaurants. World of Hyatt members get breakfast each day at no charge. We really enjoyed it, especially the chazuke and curry rice stations alongside the usual breakfast choices.
