The location worked well for us, about a three-minute walk to the bus stops and another minute to the train station. When T-site opens, it’ll be two minutes away. We stayed four nights in early March 2026 and arrived around noon by train. They let us leave our bags before check-in, and the process was smooth, with staff showing us what to do. Everything is digitized. Our room layout felt awkward. The two beds left only a foot or two at the end to get through to the table and work area. There was no wardrobe or cabinet, just hangers on the wall facing the bed, so we kept brushing against clothes as we passed. Getting into the raised bathroom and toilet meant stepping up quite a lot, so be careful. I also wondered why there was such a large single sofa; a small table and chair would have been more useful. The work chair had wheels, so it felt like you could fall when sitting down. I understand room designs differ, so others may not have the same issues.

This was the first stop on our two-week Japan road trip. The hotel is simple, clean, and presentable, right by the station in central Karuizawa. Staff greeted us with big smiles and were helpful, and checking in and out electronically was easy. There are several car rental places across the road, including Toyota Rent a Car, which was convenient. The outlet mall is a 10 to 15 minute walk away, with plenty of food choices. The food court there is worth checking out.

The hotel is within walking distance of the outlet, but parking space at the hotel is very limited. When we asked where to park, staff showed us a map of nearby paid parking. They weren’t very helpful to foreign guests overall. Fortunately, a junior staff member spoke English and welcomed us, but the senior staff didn’t help her provide service.

I arrived early as a solo traveler on 28 Dec, and the staff kindly helped with my luggage. I could check in after 3 pm and get some rest. The hotel is quite near the train station, with shops nearby too.

The room was nice by Japanese standards, with an attached bathroom and a loaded 55-inch TV for movies, shows, and more. The hotel is right by the main station, and the check-in, check-out, and baggage rules are clearly laid out.
