They apparently hadn't noticed my reservation, though there was an empty bed, so I was able to stay. At check-in they spent 20 minutes lecturing me about Japanese history, which had nothing to do with my visit. I got no information about the areas I could use or about check-out. The bunk beds were cheap and wobbly, and even turning over in my sleep meant being careful. It didn't seem as if the place had been cleaned at all.

The owner was a pleasant, helpful gentleman who even walked with me to the train station, just a short distance away. The accommodation is in a quiet family house, with clean, well-equipped spaces. It has bathroom facilities, a kitchen with a stove, microwave, and toaster, plus a living room with a TV.

Gomenasai, there was no privacy here. It was dirty, and I couldn't sleep.

The way they dealt with my phone call was awful. They started shouting at me and hurling abuse.
