SuperHotel Saitama Kawagoe

There’s loads of great food and shops about a 2-minute walk away. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the in-house onsen was nice. My room was fairly large and comfortable, and the place exceeded my expectations. The door code seemed a bit odd instead of a key card, but it was fine once I learned it. Water pressure could be better, though that’s a small issue for me.

The complimentary buffet breakfast was healthy and tasty, and the sento was clean and nice. We also enjoyed the unusual cocktail hour. Our rooms were well soundproofed, so we couldn’t hear the Matsuri outside until we opened a window. We stayed one night for the Kawagoe Matsuri, and the hotel was right in the middle of the festivities, just a short walk from the station. The rooms were small but comfortable, with plenty of hot water for the bath. Amenities were either in the room or available downstairs after check-in. Check-in at 3pm was easy, and as other reviewers mentioned, you choose your own pillow. Since we arrived right at 3, I got exactly the one I wanted, and it was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. I’d stay again if I had the chance.

This hotel is good value for money, with its own private carpark and a convenient spot across from the local subway station. The service was great as well. Mr Yamazaki-san at the front desk deserves a mention for his warm welcome and hospitality. A 5* experience!

The location is very good, with restaurants nearby for the evening, after the shops at Edo may have closed.
