The food was delicious, and the chandelier caught our attention as soon as we arrived. This was our first trip to Japan, and we were amazed by how spacious the hotel felt when we walked in. The gentleman who helped us spoke English very well. We were both nervous and the conversation didn't flow at first, but he started talking with us and helped us enjoy our time there. I think his ability to communicate so well is wonderful. We'd love to return with our family. Thank you very much.

We stayed one night at Hotel Kazuno Hotel Kazuno in Kazuno City, Iwate. We drove from Morioka Station, about 104km and 1 hour 25min. There was plenty of outdoor parking. Our non-smoking Japanese tatami room had a bath and shower, and faced the front with a decent view. Dinner and breakfast were at Nogaki hall. Dinner was a Japanese gozen with a good spread of dishes, and breakfast was a buffet featuring local delicacies. You can eat indoors or outside beside a cascading waterfall. There’s one public onsen bath with an outdoor bath, plus a sauna. A QR code in the room lets you check how crowded the onsen is before heading over. We were on our way to the Akita Dog visitor center and the Akita dog museum, then heading to Hirosaki to see the cherry blossom. It seems like a good place for a mid-way stay. Maybe I'd come back.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and my room was very clean with a decent view of the town. The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous, and both the indoor and outdoor onsen were fabulous.

The restaurant where I had lunch had a nice atmosphere and the service was good. I tried Inaniwa udon, which is famous here, but the taste was just so-so.
