Dinner was a highlight, with very fresh local seafood including uni, oysters, and beautifully prepared sashimi. The whole place was exceptionally clean, and the rooms were spacious, with a separate bath and toilet inside, which is rare at many ryokans. If you call ahead, they can even pick you up from the nearest station in a mini car. One of the best ryokans in Kesennuma for a relaxing, authentic stay. Highly recommended.

Even during Golden Week it was peaceful and quiet, which I really appreciated. There isn't a hot spring at the inn, but the food was outstanding. I had grilled seafood at Hachishoku Center for breakfast or lunch, then enjoyed a huge sashimi platter for dinner. The sea squirt was especially fresh, with no unpleasant smell at all. I also tried Souten-den FLYING BIRD for the first time, and it went perfectly with the sashimi. I'd like to stay again.

The room was clean, and the welcome felt warm. At dinner, each dish was explained, from oysters steamed and served in a treasure box to a whole grilled shark fin. Breakfast surprised me too: the scrambled eggs were as good as at a luxury hotel, the grilled salmon was warm, and the rice tasted great.

I planned this solo stay without meals since there are restaurants nearby. The check-in directions were polite and reassuring, and the landlady's warm smile was lovely. The food smelled so good that I'd like to bring someone next time. A friend saw photos of the room and said it looked great. For under 5,000 yen, the room was surprisingly spacious and well equipped, with thoughtful touches in the amenities. It felt brand new and clean, with relaxing tatami and a Japanese feel. The lights had a remote, there was a handy outlet by the bed, and the bathtub was spacious. The in-house clothes were so soft I wanted to wear them at home too, haha. It was my first time in Kesennuma, and the inn was so cozy I regretted staying just one night. It's within walking distance of the station, and the Folklore Museum is about a ten-minute taxi ride away. Thank you for the hospitality. ^ ^ ⭐︎

I hadn't slept this soundly in a while, and I think the futon was my favorite part (:3[_____]. The staff welcomed me with lovely smiles, and the rooms and facilities were immaculately clean. The food was excellent too, especially the sparkling, delicious rice at breakfast. Dinner was a given.
