Kesennuma Park Hotel - Adults Only

The rooms and facilities are old, but that didn’t cause any problems. If you skip dinner, there are convenience stores and Sukiya and Katsuya restaurants nearby. Breakfast is a bento, with rice, miso soup, and salted fish available as much as you like. It could get repetitive on a long stay, but being able to eat from 6:30 is handy. They have orange and apple juice, though I’d rather have milk or yogurt. 😅👍🙏

The room setup is comfortable and practical for business trips, but the Wi-Fi in the rooms is a little slow. Breakfast is as shown in the attached picture. The raw egg is a nice touch, but there’s nothing about it that feels like Kesennuma. I wonder whether any hotels in this port town give you a real sense of being in Kesennuma. I hope they’ll take this seriously. With love for Kesennuma 🙏

The hotel is bigger than a regular business hotel, and the staff are very friendly. Getting to an izakaya is a bit of a trek, though, so the location is questionable. When you go out, you’re asked to leave your room key card at the hotel. On your return, you pick it up by room number. I do wonder whether they know it’s really you. Would handing over the key by name be better, or should guests be allowed to keep it?

From my room window, I could see the fish market lit up at night. The hotel is nice and easy to reach, fairly close to Kesennuma Port Interchange. On a previous stay, they contacted me right away when I left my belt behind. Another time, a large insect showed up in my room. I’d been in the mountains that day, so maybe it came along in my bag. Even though it was the middle of the night, staff brought insecticide and newspaper up to my room. Thanks so much. I’ll definitely stay here again.
