Business Hotel Sugi

When a flight was suddenly cancelled, I had to find somewhere at short notice and stayed at Business Hotel Sugi. I paid 9,000 yen for a Double Room (WA), though I heard some plans start at 6,600 yen. The room was very clean and comfortable. For a business traveler, the free LAN connection is a real plus. I was glad to find the bathroom and toilet separate, and the bathtub area was especially spacious, great if you want to relax in the bath. There are microwaves on every floor, which made it easy to warm up small items. The front desk also sells cold beer, instant noodles, and ice cream, handy when you haven't had a chance to shop because the stay was unexpected. The staff were very polite and helpful, which eased my worries. There are no convenience stores nearby, so you'll want to buy things before checking in. There was a delicious soba noodle restaurant right next door, though. The step between the toilet and bathroom is high, so older people and children need to be careful. The bath uses an old-fashioned faucet to set the temperature, and it took some effort to get it right. It was a useful, good value stay, especially with the clean room, separate bathroom and toilet, and warm service. Prices depend on the plan. I’d recommend it if you need a clean, comfortable place before or after using the airport. If you're heading to the airport early, book a taxi ahead of time. It's about 10 minutes by taxi, around 2,500 yen, paid in cash.

There are frozen foods, ice cream, alcohol, and other items for sale by the front desk, so you can still be comfortable if you forgot to buy something. There are few convenience stores and restaurants nearby, though, so it's best to sort out dinner, a late-night snack, and drinks beforehand. It's about a 7-minute drive from the airport, quite close and relatively inexpensive, so I think it's great. The facilities were excellent for a business hotel. A real convenience is that the rooms have separate toilets and showers, as well as unit baths. There's also a separate smoking room and laundry room.

The owner's kind. Parking is free, and that's about the main plus apart from being near the airport. There's not much around the hotel, so it's suitable for just staying one night and moving on.
