I stayed in a detached inn and didn't run into other guests, which made it comfortable. The food was tasty, but the portions were so large that by the end it felt like a punishment game, and I forced myself to keep eating because I felt bad leaving any. I've stayed twice and had the same experience both times, so I understand that's their approach. I'd rather they focus on quality than quantity.

The cake we’d ordered for dessert was too much after dinner, so they kept it for us to have with breakfast the next morning. It was a special occasion, and we also got a bottle of alcohol as a souvenir. The most expensive rooms come with both dinner and breakfast served at your table. That made it easier to keep a low profile, which was what we wanted from this discreet getaway. I was so pleased with the stay that I’d consider coming back.

The hot springs were amazing, and both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious. The hospitality and attention to detail were amazing too!

The waiter who served us was knowledgeable about alcohol and listened carefully as we talked about our travel plans. He even suggested some liquor stores. My husband, who loves shochu, was delighted to try several limited-edition varieties. He said, “I really liked his accent!” 😆 For our first trip to Kagoshima and first time in Kirishima, we wanted somewhere luxurious. Since I’m pregnant, having a private open-air bath and sauna in our room was incredibly convenient. My husband loved the sauna and the evening drinks in the room, and we both got to fully relax. Dinner was in a private room in the dining area. The dishes were carefully prepared, delicious, and just the right amount. We want to go again!
