Hotel Kyocera

A lovely older hotel with an impressive, grand feel and fascinating architecture. It's spread out, and the newer annex has the breakfast restaurant, summer spa, and additional guest rooms.

Hotel Kyocera was the highlight of my week in Kagoshima, where I split my time between business and leisure, including three nights in Kirishima. The English communication with Ms.Tanaka was impeccable, something many visitors who don't speak Japanese will appreciate. Her kindness and professionalism really impressed me, and she helped me get home feeling warm and safe. I'm grateful to her and Hotel Kyocera, and I'll definitely stay there again on my next visit to Kagoshima.

I’d heard about this nearby hotel from an acquaintance after Kagoshima Airport Hotel closed. I drove over from Kagoshima Airport in a rental car and found a huge property that was well beyond what I expected. The breakfast was a real surprise: the room is in an annex across the street, it’s spacious, and there are so many dishes that you couldn’t try them all. It felt like a satisfying resort-style breakfast, even on a business trip. The whole hotel is very spacious, and I’d choose it for a vacation next time rather than for work.

Good value for money, and the best place in town. There's no outdoor onsen, though, and I'd skip breakfast.
