My flight got canceled, so I needed somewhere for the night, fast and cheap. This place was just ¥4000 for two people. The owner was really accommodating and drove us to a restaurant and convenience store, then dropped us at the airport in the morning.

It’s clean and comfortable enough, as long as you’re not expecting a luxury hotel at this price. The owner even arranged a reduced rate through the Go To Travel campaign and can pick you up from and take you back to the airport.

I chose Taipa because other places near Kagoshima Airport had terrible reviews. My flight got in around 9 PM in January 2026, too late for me to rent a car. It was quiet overnight, and the staff were friendly. They offer airport transfers both ways and, if you ask, can stop at a convenience store. For a night before a last flight, it felt like good value. The building is old and the cleaning seemed average, though the areas people use regularly were clean. There are apparently quite a few cats on the premises, so it may not suit anyone with a cat allergy. Bring your own toothbrush. They supply bath and face towels, shampoo, body soap, and pajamas. The room had a mini-fridge, microwave, air conditioning, air purifier, and TV. I can’t say how it would feel in summer, but in this season I saw no bugs and wasn’t uncomfortable.

They look after lots of cats here, which makes it a must for cat lovers. Airport rides are available too, and they’ll make a convenience store stop if you ask.
