Breakfast comes as an individual meal in the dining room rather than a buffet, and there was so much that even I, an adult man, couldn’t finish it. If that might be too much for you, ask for a smaller serving when booking or checking in. The room looked very clean, as if the hotel had just been renovated, and the staff were kind and left a good impression.

We had a lovely, comfortable stay, with a homely feel you don’t get at chain hotels. The baths had water from a nearby hot spring, the floors were polished spotless, and our room had been cleaned with great care. Breakfast was excellent, both in quality and quantity. We were in town to see the wisteria at Ashikaga Flower Park, then ride the Watarase Keikoku Railway the next day. Staying one night with breakfast included turned out to be a fantastic choice. JR Kiryu Station is only a few minutes on foot, and Jomo Electric Railway Nishi-Kiryu Station, with its charming retro feel, and a convenience store are just around the corner. Thank you to the landlady, her daughter, the two white dogs, and the marble-striped mascot cat.

They were so kind about holding my luggage, and even cheered me on as I headed out for my exam. I really appreciated it. The dog was friendly and cute, too. I stayed here for the Gunma University transfer exam. It’s near the station, with a convenience store and Don Quijote an easy walk away. I’ll definitely stay here again when I’m in Gunma.

I paid 5,610 yen for one night with breakfast included. The breakfast was delicious, and the Japanese-style room I stayed in was neat and clean, with new tatami mats. I spent one night at Business Hotel Nishi-Kiryu in Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture. It’s conveniently placed near Nishi-Kiryu Station on the Jomo Electric Railroad and JR Kiryu Station. They have both Japanese-style and Western-style rooms, and dinner is available too. Next time, I’d like to try the two-meal plan. Their famous dog was adorable, and the landlady was very friendly. They have cats as well, though I didn’t see one this time. I’d like to meet one on my next visit.

The rice portions were enormous, and it was so tasty I cleared every meal and put on weight, lol. They had rice containers for seconds, but I didn’t want to waste any, so I ate it all. It felt like a family-run place, and the landlady was really friendly and chatty. When it snowed, they even cleared the snow off my car, which helped a lot. Thanks so much! (^-^) I’d definitely stay again if I get the chance.
