The receptionist speaks English, and the people are nice.

I was really disappointed with this stay. My booking was for a room with both dinner and breakfast, but at check-in they said it only included breakfast. When I asked them to confirm dinner, they gave me no clear answer and insisted, in a very forceful tone, “It’s just breakfast!” I checked the reservation email in my room and saw that dinner and breakfast were both included. I called the front desk on the room phone to point this out. They just said, “I see. Sorry,” then told me to come down and pick up my meal ticket. I keep wondering whether I’d have been refunded if I hadn’t caught the mistake myself, and how they would have handled it. Dinner was meant to be a teppanyaki course, but the teppanyaki never came. From my point of view, this hotel comes close to being a scam. I’ll never stay here again.

The hotel is a handy base for getting around Kitakami Station, and I stayed in a single room on a business trip in early December 2025. It was compact but functional, with good business amenities. The Wi-Fi was especially fast and stable, so PC work and online meetings went smoothly. There’s also a coffee server in the first-floor lobby, a nice little perk for a quick hot drink. For dinner, Midori-an on the hotel’s first floor serves tasty soba and set meals. It’s convenient when you don’t feel like heading into the downtown area. One parking note: I arrived at night and the hotel’s free lot, with about 60 spaces, was already full, so I used a nearby multilevel garage. Late arrivals should keep that in mind. The facilities are a little old, but the location, Wi-Fi, and food and drink make it good value.

I stayed here to snowboard in Iwate, and it’s a good choice if keeping lodging costs down is your main concern. Even so, I wasn’t impressed by the service or facilities, regardless of the price. The boiler was broken on the day I arrived, leaving me without hot water for two days, including the next day. I also asked to have the room cleaned and they wouldn’t do it.
