The shuttle bus was free, and the Fukunomori bath was amazing. That was the good part. The rooms felt old and damp, with a basement-like smell, and I came across cockroaches. Staff were rude, meals at Fukunomori couldn't be reserved, and the hotel is a long way from Nagiso and Tsumago. Without the bath and sauna, I'd give it one star. I'm not sure how the place passed inspection.

I had questions and other needs, and they took care of them. They also arranged a free ride for me from Tsumago to the ryokan.
