Kiori Exec Muromachi

The best value of the places I’ve stayed in so far, and I’d absolutely come back. The room was spacious, beautifully put together, very clean, and had everything I needed. It even had an air purifier and humidifier, which came in handy on a day I wasn’t feeling well. The lobby, elevators, hallways, and room all looked pristine. I suspect the hotel may be new. Photos show the design better than I can describe it. I’m from the US, and this was my first hotel in Kyoto. The front desk staff were extremely helpful, spoke Japanese and English, and helped send my luggage on to my next destination. My one small suggestion is to make the lobby more of a place to sit and relax, maybe with reading material and coffee or tea. There are already a few seats and tables, but a few more lounge touches could make it feel more welcoming. I loved the hotel and staff.

We loved our time here and wished we could have stayed longer. The hotel is breathtaking, chic without trying too hard, and run with real care. Its location worked perfectly for us. Thank you for being so kind and attentive throughout our stay.

The shower was a highlight, and the stay was comfortable.

The soundproofing is awful. Trucks went by all night, there was renovation noise downstairs, and the doors and windows blocked none of it. Housekeeping also cleaned the hallway loudly at 9 AM, so getting any rest was impossible. The worst part was how the room change was handled. Staff promised twice to move me because of the noise. I packed my luggage both times, then was told the room had gone to other guests. Their only proper offer was to move me to a different hotel. They left important notices as paper notes in the room and said they had emailed me, but I never received those emails. I found the hotel extremely unprofessional and unreliable. I strongly don’t recommend it.
