10/10
The staff were attentive and polite, and the location was handy for Kukora castle and the shopping areas. The hotel is definitely older, but my room was clean and worked perfectly well. It had a more western feel, with a lot more space than a typical Japanese hotel, including a bigger bed. Breakfast was a very good buffet with plenty of choices.

I was hesitant about booking, but the travel program benefits made it seem worthwhile. Having to return the key to the front desk every time I went out felt odd at first. I got used to it, though, and the staff recognized me, so the process was easy. The room was small, but the Wi-Fi and bathroom were great. For Japan, the value felt comparable to some western branded hotels I use. I'd stay again, which says a lot since I usually need plenty of luxury. The location and value are hard to beat.

I was there for an event and enjoyed the river view, the good food, and the service. It's an elegant, grand old place.
