There's no problem carrying your luggage up the stairs if you stay in one of Kyoto's traditional buildings, and it wasn't an issue for me. The room itself was cozy and clean. The location is convenient too, within walking distance of the bus stop and train station, on a street lined with restaurants and shops.

The free onsen was a little creepy, tucked underground with no window. The room was clean and well kept, and having a Yukata ready in it was a nice touch. Between the room's look and the surrounding town, I felt like I'd stepped into the town from the Miyazaki film Spirited Away. The Ryokan went well beyond what I'd expected.

It's right in the middle of Arima Onsen, so the location is great, and the price feels like good value. I only wish they'd provided things like lotion.

The price is reasonable and the rooms are fine, but the hot spring facilities are pretty outdated.

The view from our room was beautiful, and the onsen was wonderful. The yukatas were lovely, and having fresh towels each day was a nice touch. I stayed with friends visiting Japan, and for the low price I was very happy with the quality. Check-in took place in another building downstairs, which confused us a bit at first, but we found it easily. We made a lot of good memories. Sorry about the noise at the onsen!
