The location is really nice, and the staff were good. The check-in setup was strange, though. We arrived around 13:40 and were told the room would be ready in 20 minutes. Apparently everyone got the same message, so there was a huge line at 14:00 and we waited about 30 minutes. After that, we still had to use a machine to finish check-in, pay and get a second room key. It also took a long time to get an elevator. We used the laundry, but it didn't seem to work properly. After a full cycle our clothes were still very wet and burning to touch. The rooms felt small, with about half the space taken up by a corridor for no reason.

A comfortable, cozy room right in the city, less than a 10-minute walk from Sannomiya Station. The reception staff were cheerful, friendly and really helpful. Shopping streets and cafés are all an easy walk away.

I was nervous after reading the reviews, but the staff were really friendly when I arrived. I got a non-smoking corded room, the amenities were top notch, there were lots of food options, and the bed was very comfy. The location was the best part for getting around, close to Chinatown, shrines, malls and the subway. You can walk above ground or underground from the station to the hotel, and there's a luggage elevator up to street level right across from it. Laundry and a microwave are available too. Check-in uses both a machine and an in-person interaction, but it was fast and efficient.

During my 11-day trip to Japan I stayed at five different hotels, and Daiwa Roynet Sannomiya Premier in Kobe was easily my favorite. The room was clean and comfortable, and the bed, linens and towels were superb. All the amenities felt top quality. If their other hotels are this nice, I'll book with them again on my next trip to Japan.
