Kobe MerikenPark Oriental Hotel

I’ve tried lots of hotel breakfasts in Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe, and this buffet was really delicious. It’s worth coming just for breakfast by the sea. My room faced south, so I got some beautiful views of Kobe sea. One of the best hotels in Kobe, and I’d definitely stay here again.

The hotel felt peaceful, and the clean, comfortable room with its very comfortable bed made it a lovely place to spend time with my fiancee. I enjoyed the lounge atmosphere too, and it was handy having a kombini right in the hotel. The ocean views were amazing during the day. I forgot to take a photo because I was too busy enjoying them. When we checked in, the stuff were very helpful and quick to offer support. The main drawback is the location: it’s quite far from everything and there isn’t much public transport, so you’ll need to drive or take a taxi.

The rooms were clean enough, but a bit outdated and slightly stuffy at first. The hotel is elegant, and the location is fantastic, right near Harborland and convenient for the mall and lovely night views. Breakfast had a decent range of choices, enough to get the day started, though it wasn’t outstanding. Ms. Matsukama at the front desk of Oriental Park Hotel was incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. Since I don’t speak Japanese, she even helped me book a table at Steakland. Her service was truly top-notch, and I highly recommend her.

There’s a nice park, a waterfront boardwalk, and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel also has a great location, nice views, a wonderful breakfast buffet, and a teppenaki steak restaurant. I wish I could recommend it, but the rooms were poor and left me disappointed in an otherwise suitable hotel.
