The room radios are National RE-796 models (Made in Japan) from the 1960s, with surprisingly good sound. I found them soothing and listened all night. I stayed two nights in May 2026 on a motorcycle touring plan, paying 3700 yen per night including parking and tax. The sheets and towels were clean and nicely starched, which helped me give it four stars despite the incredibly low price. It may be the cheapest place to stay in Kochi City, but the cleaning overall was subpar and the aging building shows its age. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone especially particular about cleanliness. My room had a private bathroom, electric kettle, TV, radio, refrigerator, hairdryer, razor, toothbrush, towels, and pajamas. No bidet or in-room drinks like coffee or tea, though there were vending machines. A few things to know: there’s no elevator, no automatic lock, and no meals. They used to offer a 100 yen breakfast, but that was recently discontinued. My room had no view, just a window facing the wall of the building next door.
