Tabist Hotel Yamashiro Onsen

Flexible and reasonably priced, which is why I love this hotel.

One of the dirtiest hotels I've ever seen. The whole building is old and badly maintained, and the rooms are tiny and horrible. The futon was very uncomfortable, parking couldn't fit all the rooms, and breakfast wasn't included. It should cost a fraction of what they charge. Avoid it if you can, or keep it as a last resort if nothing else is available.

I had business at the Budokan in Oze Sports Park and stayed here without meals. It was less than a 10-minute walk to the Budokan, and the price was low. The hot springs were great. My room was small but fine for sleeping, with a futon already laid out. It was bright, clean, and neat, with a wall-mounted TV, refrigerator, and electric kettle. I didn't use the clean unit bath. The one downside was that the toilet seat wasn't heated.

The bath was hot and comfortable, but the changing room smelled awful and was slippery underfoot. The bathroom floor was slippery too, so watch your step. Throughout the building there was a dusty, animal-like odor, like it hadn't been cleaned. Guest rooms looked clean in visible areas, but checking the air conditioner in my room showed it hadn't been cleaned in months, and it triggered an allergic reaction. The guest bathrooms had rough, smelly surfaces, like an uncleaned college studio. The screen door was torn, and the outlets were only half plugged in, with dust around them. It felt like there hadn't been a fire yet. Even if it's cheap, I can't recommend staying here. Sanitation and cleaning seem completely neglected. I wouldn't want to give it any stars, more like a minus.
