The suite was a nice place to spend the night, and the late-night food was a welcome extra: hotcakes, cup ramen, and ramen were provided. Having a drum-style washer was especially handy since I was coming back from a trip, and there was a sauna too. I was pleased with the service overall, but found a cigarette butt left by the previous guest in the parking lot and another behind the sofa. That was disappointing and makes it understandable that guests might feel the cleaning is inadequate. If they fix that, I’d be satisfied.

They knew the bath wasn’t working but still charged me the normal room rate. That feels like a scam. When I phoned reception, they said the plumber was off and it was still broken, which made no sense to me as a guest. They told me there weren’t any other rooms, but they called after I’d checked in. At that point, they should at least have let me know about the bath.

The place was inexpensive, and the breakfast was tasty. I had to find somewhere late at night for urgent business, so I chose a stay with breakfast and an 11 a.m. checkout despite seeing the mixed reviews. Staff at the front desk were helpful. My room was cold even with the built-in heater set to 31°C, but there was a kerosene fan heater that kept me warm. There were plenty of movies and other things to watch, and I could relax. The building is old, the baths were just average, and payment had to be made through an air chute. It cost in the 5,000 yen range for 3 p.m. to 11 a.m. the next day. With breakfast included, I found it a better deal than a business hotel.

Even in the highest-grade room, the changing area was cold. The pasta was overcooked and had the texture of udon. Turning on the humidifier made my throat itchy, and it seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned properly.
