Comfort Inn Kumamoto Miyukifueda

There are barely any restaurants within walking distance, though the inn itself is clean and pleasant, and I had no issues with the rooms or the other staff. Breakfast costs 1,100 yen, which feels steep when Hirai, a 24-hour bento shop, is only a 2-3 minute drive away and you could fill up on udon or soba there. I never used the breakfast service. The laundromat has just two washing machines and one microwave for this many rooms, which could be a hassle if you're on a tight budget.

The room was small but comfortable, and the bathroom had a decent amount of space. I picked this hotel because most things are easy to reach by car. I usually love breakfast at business hotels, so I was looking forward to it, but after several nights the food was still pretty much the same. I was honestly surprised it cost 1,100 yen. There were electrical outlets but no USB ports, so I couldn't use my own charger and had to borrow one from the hotel. It was really slow, lol. The breakfast let me down enough that I can only give the hotel 3 stars, sorry.

Free parking was a big help since we drove, and being able to have the kids share our bed at no extra cost made a family stay more affordable. The rooms aren't especially roomy. Breakfast doesn't have a huge selection, but both the adults and kids enjoyed it.

The homemade stew at breakfast was sweet, full of flavor, and delicious. I also liked the colorful cherry tomatoes, the well-balanced ingredients and spices in the curry, and the firmness of the carrots. The konjac had been torn up so the flavor could soak in. Even the scrambled eggs and curry felt on par with what you'd get at a luxury hotel, and 990 yen seems fair for all that. I was here on business and appreciated the spacious open-air parking in Kumamoto City, where I could leave the car without worrying about the time. My room was clean and quiet, with enough amenities. There wasn't an outlet by the pillow, but an extension cord was provided, so it was fine. The bathtub was spacious, with plenty of room between it and the curtain rail. All the staff were wonderful. I'd definitely come back on another business trip.
