Kumamoto Tokyu REI Hotel

We stayed one night in March 2025, and the staff kindly looked after our luggage both before check-in and after check-out. Tokyu REI Hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Kumamoto castle and Sakuramachi Bus Terminal. Our double room was clean and comfortable, with a tiny fridge, kettle, AC, private bath, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and towels. It also had a humidifier, nice light PJs, TV, table and chair, clothes rack and coat hangers. There are some free amenities in the lobby.

The bus terminal and a supermarket are right across from the hotel, and a 24-hour restaurant and convenience store are next door. It's in the city center, with lots of other restaurants nearby.

A well-priced hotel in a handy spot, right by the bus station for getting around. Restaurants and shops are easy to reach on foot. The room was on the small side, as you'd expect in Japan, but clean and roomy enough for two.

The washroom with its bath was much too small, but everything else was good enough, including the price and location. Shinshigai shopping square is within walking distance, and you can find food late at night. The tram is a minute away and the bus terminal is five minutes from the hotel. The staff were polite and helpful in English. No doubt, I highly recommend it.
