Ada Garden Hotel Okinawa

The staff made us feel welcome from the start, and they showed new guests the native Okinawa Yambaru Kuina. Watching them in the dark evening was a really interesting experience. Dinner was great too, with meat and Japanese dishes, and there’s an adorable pet pig in the lobby 🌸. I’d happily recommend a visit.

The food was a highlight for me. Every meal was delicious, the portions felt just right, and the local Sake was fantastic. It’s a good idea to book the meal options ahead of time. We spent three days here while hiking in the Yanbaru forest, and had a great stay. We managed to get there by bus from Naha, though the ride took a while. The free laundry and dryer were much appreciated after getting wet and sweaty most days. Rental E-bikes are also available, and I’d recommend them for getting around the hilly area. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, and treated us like special guests. There’s also a little pet pig called Harū, the sweetest little piggy I’ve ever met.

The room had a rustic, lived-in feel that I really liked, and it was spacious and comfortable, with a small balcony. The hotel itself is beautiful, with Vietnamese-style design and decor. Its remote setting felt refreshing after a long bike ride up the coast and around the cape. I could store my bike in a designated indoor area. Meals were incredible. The traditional Japanese breakfast and dinner could be made to suit my vegan diet. Since everything is made fresh to order, remember to request meals the day before and pick a dining time. I was traveling alone by bicycle and the hostess made me feel especially welcome. It was a great chance to rest and recover, and I highly recommend staying here. The staff were all friendly and keen to help.

We ran into the staff on their evening walk, and she showed us some of the animals that live near the hotel. They were lovely, polite and friendly, and the stars were amazing too!
