Toyoko Inn Kure-eki

The rooms are clean and practical, and even though I noticed the marked corners other reviews mentioned, it didn't bother me. The first-floor library is also a lounge, handy if you arrive before check-in, and there’s coin laundry and free breakfast. The breakfast smoothie is a lovely, gentle way to start the day, so give it a try. If smoothies aren't your thing, there’s orange juice, milk, or coffee. The station is a bit of a walk, though under five minutes toward the Yamato Museum, and the dining area is a short stroll away.

The rooms are good quality for a reasonable price, and the hotel is near both the station and Kure's local spots. A special thank you to the night manager on duty Oct 25/24. He went out of his way to help two foreigners who'd gotten lost that evening, and we really appreciated his kindness and hospitality. Recommended.

Free bikes are available for exploring, though it's first come, first served and you can't reserve one. Breakfast shifts a little from day to day, which is nice on a longer stay. The location is amazing, close to everything you need. In the room, I didn't have enough desk or counter space to work comfortably on my laptop. The hot-water pressure was fine, but the cold or even warm shower flow was very weak.

The second-floor laundromat was handy, and there were enough charging outlets for several devices, even with bulky chargers. The rooms had plenty of space and the price wasn't bad. Great hotel in a convenient location.
