The rooms are surprisingly spacious for Japan, and mine even had a massage chair. The hotel looked clean and fairly new, and breakfast was good. Self check-in was easy. The women at reception were warm and smiled when greeting me, though the older man who explained the hotel after check-in was gruff and made me feel unwelcome. There are plenty of facilities, including an onsen, an oxygen room, and a workout room. Nishitetsu-kurume station is an easy walk, though it takes about 10-15 minutes. You also need a keycard to get to any floor. The wifi was awful. Sometimes using my phone data worked better. I've stayed at almost all the hotels in Kurume, and I'd still come back here.

The onsen was decent and breakfast was average, but the hotel's hospitality left me disappointed. We'd asked for a non-smoking room ahead of time and were given a smoking room. Staff told us only when we arrived, without an apology or any acknowledgment of our request. We also had to pay extra for a towel for our 2-year-old daughter. We weren't asking for extras, just enough towels for everyone staying in the room. I can understand that sort of charge for day-use onsen visitors, but not for hotel guests. The place seems to have had a recent renovation, so the facilities look clean and new, while the service still feels rigid and dated. It's inconveniently placed between two train stations, both more than 1 km away. Maybe it works for a solo business traveler with modest expectations, but I wouldn't recommend it to families or anyone expecting proper hospitality.

I felt completely unsafe here, the worst experience I've had in Japan. The onsen is on the second floor, which anyone can reach. A room card is only needed for floors 3 through 9, and you don't need one to enter the hotel. The onsen entrance itself has a password. On the night of February 23, a group of delinquents (Japanese delinquents) were waiting at the second-floor onsen entrance and threatened me to get the password. I pretended not to know it and said I'd only come inside to use the toilet. Some staff were friendly and helpful, others weren't. I think front desk staff should pay attention to who comes into the hotel. The security is terrible.

A good-value spot in downtown Kurume, especially with breakfast included. The breakfast is great, and the indoor onsen is open from 3 pm until 10 am. There's also a small fitness room. It has a minimalist, environmentally friendly feel and works well for a short getaway.

It was my second stay, and I still like the natural onsen. In the morning I had the bath area to myself, so I got a chance to take some pictures. Later, there were people with tattoos in the bath, and no staff seemed to be checking. I was also disappointed by the cleaning staff member who kicked the bath chairs with their foot right in front of a guest. That was poor hospitality, especially as a returning guest. The massage chair in the room was awful, too. It felt more like a torture chair than a massage chair.
