Super Hotel Kushiro Ekimae

The hotel sits right above the train and bus terminal, and the location is good. There’s free parking outside, free drinks, and a good breakfast.

Kushiro Station is right beside the hotel, with a parking lot out front. My room was clean, breakfast tasted good, and I didn’t have to wait for a seat in the cafeteria. The Wi-Fi was fast enough for online meetings. Washo Ichiba, the well-known seafood market, is within walking distance, and there are places to eat both inside Kushiro Station and nearby. Kushiro Fisherman's Wharf Moo, with its seafood market and souvenir shops, is about a 10-minute walk away. From the station you can also take a train or bus to Nemuro, Shiretoko, Akan, and Mashu, so I think it’s a handy base for sightseeing in Hokkaido.

A really awful experience. I tried to check in at 12:01 a.m., but they said the hotel was closed and told me to sleep outside in -10 degree weather. When I called, the hotel staff kept telling me to sort it out myself. Terrible customer service. Please don’t stay at any hotel in the Super Hotel group.

The room is small, but it had everything I needed, and I liked being able to choose my pillow. They also offer good water and soda water. Breakfast is simple, but the vegetables taste very fresh and a lot of the food is freshly cooked. I came to Kushiro from Tomamu, and honestly found the food here much better than at big hotels like Hoshino. The staff are nice and relaxed. I’ll come back.
