Everything was clean, and having coin laundry in the basement was handy. The subway is only a minute away, too. There didn’t seem to be any staff around during our stay, which made the place feel cold. The lobby bar stayed empty, and there was no information about whether they hold social nights. There was just one toilet and shower for everyone on our floors, which felt a bit precarious, while the basement showers were locked for some reason.

The quiet surroundings were the standout for us. Restaurants, convenience stores, subway stations and bus stops were all just a few steps away, so it was easy to get around while still enjoying some peace. At Bird Hostel, we had a roomy toilet and bathtub, plus a fairly big bed, queen-sized, I think. It made our Kyoto trip much more enjoyable, thanks, Bird Hostel. I missed the Airbnb review deadline because I hadn’t realized there was a time limit after checkout, so I’m leaving this one on Google Maps instead.

The room was pretty ordinary. I wouldn’t recommend it if you want your own room with a private bathroom and shower inside it.

That tiny elevator is something to be ready for. We and several other guests sent our luggage up separately and used the stairs. It wasn’t a deal breaker, just good to know beforehand. Our family suite had six double beds and a sauna, which was a lovely way to relax after long days out. It was spacious, clean and comfortable, and the shower had such strong pressure it felt like a massage. The host communicated really well throughout our stay. The location was hard to beat, about a minute from the train station, McDonald’s, 7‑11 and plenty of restaurants. We also appreciated the on-site coin laundry, 300 yen per load, with detergent provided. Very convenient with kids. We’d gladly come back.
