BnA Alter Museum

The art throughout BnA Alter Museum made the stay memorable and fun for my child and me. Our room was spotless, the bed was really comfortable, and the huge bathtub was just right for unwinding after a long day. Waking up to that view was a highlight. The staff were always cheerful and friendly, so the place felt welcoming, almost like coming home. I’d gladly stay here again.

Haru was especially sweet and went out of her way to make us feel cared for and special. The whole team was hospitable, and they handled my family’s several dietary restrictions and other needs so thoughtfully. We stayed as a family of three and loved the rooms, which gave us a new kind of experience. The location also worked well for day trips to Osaka and Nara. We had no complaints and would absolutely recommend staying here.

We found the room beautiful and very clean, and the stay was one of our most comfortable. Service was friendly, too. I liked that housekeeping came every 2-3 days instead of more often. The hotel is centrally placed for Kyoto, with most of the things we wanted to do within a 25-minute walk. There’s a coffee bar on the second floor with good craft coffee, plus a bar on the first. We’d stay here again on a return visit.

The hotel’s art gives it a real sense of place. Each spacious room has its own artwork supporting a local artist, and we were excited to choose which room to book. Sleeping in what feels like an art gallery was a rare experience. It’s also handy for Kyoto sights, just steps from several great restaurants and the famous Nikishi Market. Staff were terrific, check-in was easy, and we got complimentary drink tickets for signature cocktails at the bar. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto.
