Kyo Ichigo

The flower arranging with Ikebana was such a lovely experience, and Emiko is just so kind. We had a family room, enjoyed a nice breakfast, and everyone was lovely. Loved it!

Emiko and her family made sure we felt well looked after. She was friendly and gave us great recommendations, and you can tell how much care goes into what they do. The cozy place is in a great part of Kyoto, near a train station, convenience stores, and good restaurants. Our room was roomy and the beds were really comfortable. We'd come back if we get the chance.

There’s plenty to enjoy nearby, from the river and cherry trees to the Kyoto Museum across the street, plus lots of food and shopping choices. The inn itself is peaceful, and the family running it, Emiko, Yoko and her dad, were attentive and kind. It’s a well-run little place, and the calm feel of both the inn and the area has us wanting to return.

The room was so comfortable, and the design made great use of the space. We also liked having breakfast before heading out to see the city. It’s in a cute neighborhood with easy bus and subway access. Emiko was on top of everything, friendly, and spoke perfect English. She arranged to send our bags ahead to Tokyo and gave us fantastic restaurant tips. We felt right at home. I was sad to leave and can’t imagine choosing another place in Kyoto.
