Nancy was fantastic. She speaks excellent English and Mandarin, showed us the facilities, suggested restaurants, and called a taxi for us. The staff were the highlight of the stay. Caesar Gion is tucked into a quiet corner of the South Gion/Kiyomizu area, close enough to walk to the major sights but peaceful enough for a good night’s sleep. Our standard double was on the top floor, with a lovely view to the east and south. The room was spacious and cozy, with a tatami sitting area. The bathroom had a tub and a separate shower, and the toilet was in its own little room. Subtle, elegant design too. The hotel is owned by a Taiwanese hotelier who bought the building last year and runs it under their own banner, Caesar. For the price, I’d recommend it to anyone after a good Kyoto experience. One of my best hotel stays in Japan, and definitely in Kyoto. Love this place, would come back anytime!

We spent 4 days here and didn’t see any other guests, even though the hotel was fully booked. There are only 4 or 5 rooms on each floor and 4 floors in the building. It’s in a quiet, somewhat residential area, an easy walk from Sannenzaka and Kiyomizudera. The traditional facade with modern facilities was a nice combination. Everything was clean and well kept, with the usual amenities and pajamas. The lobby lounge was nice, and the coin laundry on 2F worked without any issues.

We loved Caesar Gion. Plenty of room for our 4 big suitcases, and both the room and restroom were spacious and clean. Being able to adjust the lighting was nice too. It’s right in the heart of Gion. We’d stay again!

The room was clean and comfortable, with tatami beds, and the hotel was a great place to stay. Gion is close enough to walk to. The 206 bus stop for Kyoto train station is about 3 minutes away, and so is the 24-hour Fresco grocery. They also have complimentary drinks in the lobby. We really enjoyed our visit.

Wow 👌 My wife and I had a wonderful 3-night stay. The room was big and amazing, and so clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Since we were checking out at 6am, they booked a taxi to Kyoto Station the night before. It was about 1,800 yen, though the price was 2,500 yen. Thanks to all the team. 5 stars 🌟
