Ace Hotel Kyoto

The staff's service was amazing, and the location is right by stations for two metro lines in one of Kyoto's best neighborhoods. The rooms are beautiful and large, with a vinyl player in the room. Breakfast isn't a buffet, which worked well for a longer stay: there are five or six different meals to choose from, and it was perfect. Everything about the hotel felt perfect. Can't beat it!

The central location made getting around easy, with shops, restaurants, and metro access right nearby. We loved the dining options on site too, with lots of variety and consistently delicious food. We were on our honeymoon, and the warm, attentive staff made us feel special from the moment we arrived. The rooms were spacious, stylish, and so comfortable, the kind of place you look forward to returning to after a long day exploring. I'd highly recommend Ace Hotel Kyoto to anyone visiting Kyoto. It made our trip even more special.

The staff were excellent, and breakfast, which was included, was very delicious. We had no trouble leaving our bags for a few hours at the end of the stay. The lobby has a bustling, young, hip feel, and being able to cast Netflix was a rare and welcome feature in Japanese hotels. We stayed through Chase travel's Edit program for a $100 property credit and free breakfast. Using points boost and the $250 semi-annual Chase Sapphire Reserve credit brought the two-night cost down to 22,000 points, which was a fabulous value. The rooms were very nice and a good size for Japan, and our seventh-floor room had a lovely mountain view. We used the free bikes both days for rides of 5+ miles to shrines and temples. The paths along the river were great, and the larger streets had nice cycling lanes. Subway access was easy, and you don't even need to go outside.

Breakfast was a real pleasure. You choose from a menu rather than a buffet, the selection is excellent, and everything I tried was delicious. I also loved the comfortable bedding, modern rooms with large windows, and beautiful views. The hotel feels very stylish, and the staff were exceptionally friendly. My standard king room was large and extremely comfortable, with everything I needed: a big bed, bathroom and shower, toothbrushes and toothpaste, and a great minibar with coffee and other useful things. The hotel itself is large but still incredibly comfortable. There's a café on the ground floor, along with coffee shops and stores nearby, all refined and stylish. I have no words for how amazing the place was. I'll definitely come back.
