Even though I was only at Dusit Thani Hotel for a day, I had such a wonderful stay that I wished I’d planned more time in Kyoto. The service and cleanliness were both 10/10, and it’s one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. There’s a kind of Japanese hospitality here that I don’t feel you get in America anymore. I’ll stay here again when I come back. Thanks for a great visit.

We’ll definitely come back to Dusit Thani Kyoto. The staff were amazing, professional without being overbearing, and went out of their way to help us. The General Manager led the team with real skill. Breakfast was five star, much better than our experience at the Hilton Kyoto last week. There were fresh local ingredients and things from the Dusit garden, excellent tofu that we liked even more than what we tried in Niigata, and good fish. Even the homemade salad dressings had bright, wonderful flavors, especially the yuzu sauce and lemon dressing. The Japanese breakfast options were the best, with fresh pickles, and there were freshly baked bakery items and a special selection of menu orders. I also noticed the dining room staff placing the cutlery with white gloves. It felt both sanitary and elegant. The hotel’s design, textures, and colors have a world-class elegance and artistry. Everything was perfectly clean, including the bedding, and we slept well. The fragrance selection, soap, and lotion were lovely and elegant. There was no plastic in the rooms, even the water came in cans. One small detail: the tea set didn’t include paper tea bags, just quality sencha. I can’t think of any cons.

We spent three nights at Dusit Thani Kyoto and felt looked after the whole time. Leaving was hard, and we’re already hoping to return to Kyoto next year. We’ll definitely stay here again. The care started before we even reached the entrance, when staff came out to help with our luggage and introduce the hotel. At check-in, they invited us to sit comfortably while they handled everything. Everyone was warm, welcoming, attentive, and thoughtful throughout our visit. I’d highly recommend it to anyone wanting memorable service and a lovely stay in Kyoto.

My wife and I spent four nights here on our honeymoon in Japan, and it was hands down the best hotel experience I’ve ever had. We’ll come back on future trips to Kyoto, and I’m so glad we found this place. Every staff interaction felt welcoming and hospitable, from the greeters and check-in team to the manager and the food and beverage staff. They all made me feel that my stay mattered. The room was huge compared with a typical room in Japan, and there were so many amenities that I didn’t get to use them all. We did try the hotel restaurants and bar, and I really encourage people to experience them. The staff treated us so well, and the food and drinks were amazing.

The bar was a standout, so beautiful and distinctive, and just right for winding down in the evening. We also had an incredible teppanyaki dinner, easily one of the best meals of our trip. Breakfast each day was a treat too, with a great range of Japanese, Thai, and Western choices. Dusit Thani Kyoto was the highlight of our Japan trip in 2025. The design of the spaces was thoughtful and beautiful, and the staff were genuinely warm and kind. I’ve stayed in hotels all over the world, and this is now my favorite. Can’t wait to return.
