Guesthouse Kyoto Ekimae Ii

I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The price looks tempting, but this was the worst service I’ve had in Japan. The main door was left unlocked, and there were no check-in instructions. I was lucky the room doors were unlocked too. There were mosquitoes around, and the bedsheets hadn’t been made. Around 10 pm, the owner came to collect the room fee. She first asked for about ¥8,000 even though we’d booked for ¥4,800, then said it was ¥5,400 because of local tax. When we said the sheets were a little itchy and asked for a receipt, she got angry and insisted we leave. We were willing to pay, but she wouldn’t accept the room fee. She spoke rudely and demanded that we cancel the booking, even though it was raining and we hadn’t found another place. Atrocious service. If I could give negative stars, I’d give a -5.
