The staff and the accommodation itself weren't the reason for my slightly lower rating. The difficulty of staying in this area was more of a factor. The place was very nice, though there was quite a bit of noise, and it was thoughtful of them to provide earplugs. Reaching the station meant passing through quite a few stations.

We only stayed one night, but the hosts had already thought of just about everything. They gave us restaurant suggestions, plus a map showing how to get there and their opening hours. That was especially useful since places in Japan can close early. They also offered earplugs for anyone bothered by noise, though I didn't need them. The whole stay, including Sunday morning, was quiet and peaceful. The place was clean, lovely, and welcoming. The neighborhood the map directs you through from either station seems to be a warehouse area and gets quite dark at night. We walked through without trouble, though. Japan is very safe, so I didn't feel there was anything to worry about.

It was wonderful to experience a traditional Japanese home as someone using a power wheelchair. They’ve made a real effort to make it accessible while keeping its beauty and character. The accessible train stations nearby also made it easy to reach Kyoto's sightseeing spots. We really enjoyed our stay with the friendly hosts.

The house had a lot of charm and felt genuinely welcoming. It was clean, quiet, and newly refurbished, and the host made sure everything was just right. The staff were friendly, and the quality throughout was good. A cosy guest house where you can really relax. There were some good restaurants, convenience stores, and grocery shops nearby. Tambaguchi station and the bus stops were close too, so it was easy to get around Kyoto. I'd recommend staying here.

I stayed for one night, and the noise made it hard to sleep. If you're very tolerant of noise, this place may suit you. I wanted to use the bathtub that was advertised on Airbnb in both photos and writing, but the owner became aggressive and called me “Selfish” and “Chinese.” He had put up a “do not touch” sign on the tub. I also asked for an extra pillow, which was advertised on Airbnb, but didn't get one. I hadn't asked for any other amenities. You may have to see which things he wants to charge extra for. He wanted to charge me 500 yen each time I used the bathtub. I've attached evidence in case he tries to lie.
