Masa is a great host, and the Airbnb is in a handy spot in west Kyoto. It’s tucked away but close to supermarkets, konbini, and bus stops, and not too far from nishikyogoku station. A good base for exploring Kyoto by day, with an easy train ride to Osaka for the nightlife.

I loved the mountains around this place. Every time I stepped outside, it gave me a warm feeling. The owner was kind, supportive, and someone I enjoyed talking with. It’s my favorite spot in Kyoto, away from the tourist areas.

It’s easy to get to the city center and Kyoto station from here. I looked the place up on Google maps after booking and was a little unsure, but there’s nothing to worry about. It’s a nice place with everything you need.
