Check-in was a mess. At 5pm there was nobody at the counter, and the online check-in instructions weren’t clear in English. A phone was available to reach remote reception, but getting help that way wasn’t easy. The rooms are small, clean, and functional, and parking is a nightmare if you’re driving. Worst of all was the howling wind coming through a small window opening. Shutting it stopped the noise but made the room stuffy, since the centrally controlled air conditioning only had heating mode. Leaving it open brought in air but caused that awful howl, probably from a leak or pressure difference with the hallway. I ended up stuffing a towel under the room door to quiet it while keeping some ventilation. Unless you’re on a tight budget, I’d stay away.

The rooftop terrace and back patio were highlights for me. One looks out over a temple, and the other has a gorgeous view of Tokyo Skytree, lit up at night. There’s also a social lounge with snacks available 24 hours. Getting around Tokyo was easy, with subway and bus stations close by. My room was gorgeous and had everything I could need, and the staff were so friendly and happy to help me in English. I wish I’d stayed here for my whole trip to Japan. 10/10, would recommend.

The rooms were really good, and when we called for help, they were very nice. Self check-in was a little complicated because we never received the email, though. The location was OK. Recommended!

This seems aimed at younger travelers, and most of the service is online. There’s usually nobody around to sort out problems, and just one washing machine for everyone to share. You also can’t leave your own bicycle on the property.

There’s no breakfast and no staff on site, since everything is self serve, so it doesn’t feel hospitable. The room temperature isn’t adjustable, and the entry light is motion activated. It can be really annoying at night when someone goes through to the bathroom. The location is fantastic, and for the price it works for a solo business trip if you’re traveling light. I wouldn’t choose it for a vacation or a trip with a partner. Nothing was seriously wrong, but a few things are lacking.
